President and CEO
Ms. Ann Bilyew joined ClearLine MD in 2016 to lead the commercialization, product and corporate strategy of the Company. With more than 20 years investing in and leading companies, she served as a Board member for MDeverywhere and its precursor Med e-Manager, a leading healthcare technology company. In this role, Ms. Bilyew represented Advent International as a founding investor. She also guided a state-of-the-art facility in India launch proprietary technology, develop a scalable sales model, diversify into profitable new business lines and grow to 400+ employees. Ms. Bilyew is known for growing substantial revenue and EBITDA for emerging companies.
Previously, she served as General Partner of Advent International a few years after joining as Principal. Ms. Bilyew, the youngest woman ever named Partner, served as a member of the Investment Committee and led or participated in investments including: Health Hero Network Inc., Med e-Manager, MedVantx, Viatris, Alcala Pharma, MHA, ARS and Aegerion. She also was a member of the team that successfully raised a fund dedicated for early- and growth-stage healthcare and life sciences companies.
Ms. Bilyew earned a Bachelor of Science degree summa cum laude from the University of Kansas and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She is an avid participant in endurance races and other outdoor activities.
Founder and Product Advisor
Ihsan Haddad is an inventor, company founder and product advisor at ClearLine MD. He developed and patented the ClearLine IV device to create a solution to a preventable and life-threatening event, air embolism. It was his personal experience with catastrophic impact of air embolism that fueled Mr. Haddad to engineer, patent and found the predecessor companies, SurgiProbe, Inc., Ashland, Mass.and Anesthesia Safety Products, Inc., Woburn, Mass. Anesthesia Safety Products became ClearLine MD in 2016.</p>
Prior to ClearLine MD, Mr. Haddad founded and led Vascular Technology, Inc., from 1985 to 2000. Based in Lowell, Mass., Vascular Technology developed, patented and produced advanced medical technology for pH myocardial preservation techniques, inter-operative blood flow detectors utilizing doppler ultrasound instrumentation and oxygen gas sensors for inter-operative and industrial use. As CEO of Vascular Technology, Mr. Haddad developed techniques for high volume Doppler production and pioneered in the production of a novel disposable pH cardiac tissue sensor.
Mr. Haddad started his career at Instrumentation Laboratory, Inc. in Lexington, Mass and, concurrently, with a joint venture, coined Ingold Electrodes, Inc. in Andover, Mass. During this time he led the research and manufacture and marketing of medical, industrial and laboratory Oxygen and glass pH electrodes. He served as Group Vice President of Sensorlab and President of Ingold Electrodes, Inc., until founding Vascular Technology. Mr. Haddad was instrumental in ensuring the high standard of quality, manufacturing processes, and sales at all of his former ventures.
Mr. Haddad graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with both his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 1955 and his Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 1956. Mr. Haddad presently holds 16 patents and has numerous patents pending.
Vice President of Engineering
Hieu T. Le is Vice President of Engineering at ClearLine MD. Mr. Le has nearly 15 years experience in the design and development of electronic hardware and software for medical devices and defense systems. Prior to joining ClearLine MD in 2017, Mr. Le led and managed the engineering team at Boston Scientific Corporation for the design of an electrophysiology electroanatomical mapping system from prototype through FDA 510(k) clearance and CE marking. He also led engineering teams for the deployment of automated test systems at Symtx and Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).
Mr. Le obtained his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Vice President of Sales
Mr. Michael Prendergast joined ClearLine MD in 2016 to develop and implement our sales and channel strategy as well as oversee our market expansion.
Mr. Prendergast is a highly accomplished executive with more than 20 years experience in sales and leadership positions. Prendergast has been immersed in the healthcare market~~from medical device and IT software products to high end capital equipment. Prior to joining the ClearLine MD team, he served as Director of Business Development at Image Stream Medical, where he was responsible for developing the IDN Sales Strategy and OR Implementation Programs. Prior to Image Stream Medical, he helped lead Surgicount Medical as Area Vice President in growing its revenues to $30 million ultimately leading to its sale to Stryker Corporation for $120 million.
Prendergast earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University.
Vice President of Operations, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs
Mr. Rick Romeo joined ClearLine MD in 2014 to implement an effective and compliant quality system focused on continuous improvement and to develop manufacturing capabilities. He has more than 20 years’ experience specializing in global supply chain, manufacturing and quality assurance for medical device companies.
Prior to joining ClearLine MD, Mr. Romeo worked at Analogic for more than fifteen years. At this leading-edge healthcare and security technology solutions company, he served as Senior Engineer and then Quality Assurance Manager. Notably, Mr. Romeo transferred Analogic’s product manufacturing from the U.S. to China, where he was based for nearly five years.
Mr. Romeo attended the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) program from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
